Women know all too well the last-minute panic attack that strikes when they realize they’ve smeared mascara on their new blouse, added color to their new dress via a blush stain or killed their white capris with a streak of foundation.
No matter the makeup mishap, there are plenty of ways to remove these cosmetic conundrums in a hurry. Here are some simple ways to remove cosmetic clothing stains fast:
Cosmetic Miscellaneous:
Whether it’s bronzer or eyeshadow, simply treating a stain with a prewash stain remover and laundering as usual is perfectly appropriate for most beauty blunders.
Face Oils:
All the rage now, argan, calendula and grapeseed oil might be lining your bathroom shelves and used for moisturizing purposes. The problem with these oils is that they can drip and leave blotches behind. Remove oil stains with a prewash stain remover and rub the spot with a waterless hand cleaner, if possible. Next, launder the oil stained clothing with the hottest water that is safe for the fabric. Need help getting that stuck-on makeup stain off your clothing? We do laundry! Lipstick/Balm:
Scrape off excess lip product and treat with a prewash stain remover. Launder the item and try blotting with a dry-cleaning solvent if it persists. Also, don’t forget to remove balms, glosses and lipsticks in pockets prior to laundering clothing as these can leave behind wicked stains and melt into fabric.
Nail Polish:
Blot the spot with acetone and a paper towel if it’s safe for the fabric (synthetics and silk might be a no-go). Rinse the spot with water and continue the blotting process until the stain seems fully lifted and is no longer appearing on the paper towels. Launder the item with a prewash stain remover and you’re good to go!
